Orthopedic surgeon guest at Dine with a Doc

TERRE HAUTE — Dr. John “Chip” Rowe will be the featured speaker at the Rise and Shine Dine with a Doc from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Wabash Senior Citizen’s Center at 300 S. Fifth St. in Terre Haute.

Rowe is an orthopedic surgeon at Paris (Ill.) Community Hospital/Family Medical Center. He has been practicing orthopedic medicine since 1989, and has extensive experience in joint replacement surgery and sports-related procedures.

He has a special interest in hip replacement surgery and is one of about 3,000 surgeons in the United States who performs the “anterior approach” for hip replacement, which does not involve cutting muscle.

Rowe is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He graduated from the University of Southern California Medical School. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Senior Education Ministries, Inc. has scheduled Rise and Shine Dine with a Doc on the second Friday of every month Rise and Shine Dine with a Doc is a free event that welcomes the local senior public to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary breakfast.
