Spirituality and Health Conference is Thursday

TERRE HAUTE —

Union Hospital’s Chaplain’s Office is hosting its annual Spirituality and Health Conference Thursday.

This free conference features Richard Gunderman, M.D. Gunderman is a professor of radiology, pediatrics, medical education, philosophy, liberal arts and philanthropy at Indiana University, where he also serves as vice chair of Radiology.

He is a fellow of the Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence and serves on the Board of Indiana University Health, the Kinsey Institute and the Alpha Omega Alpha national honor medical society.

Gunderman will provide two seminars on “How Spirituality Enriches the Lives of Patients and Caregivers.”

The first seminar is designed for physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professional. It will be from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Union Hospital East Atrium Conference Room, 1606 N. Seventh St.

The second seminar is for clinical staff, social workers, counselors and ministers and will be from 9:30 to 11:20 a.m. at the Landsbaum Center for Health Education, 1433 N. 61⁄2 St.

The general public is invited to attend the seminar “Health and Faith: Lessons Learned the Hard Way” at 7 p.m. at the Landsbaum Center. This evening event is sponsored by the ISU Center for the study of Health Religion and Spirituality.
