Tried 'n' True: Try this easy-to-make Sausage Bread

By Jackie Lindley

When a friend of mine had cancer, I took her to get her treatments and got to talking to other patients and nurses. Of course, it always came around to recipes. This recipe came from one of the patients. She said it was easy to make.

Sausage Bread

Crust:

2 loaves frozen bread, thawed

Filling:

1 pound sausage, browned and drained

5 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups grated mozzarella cheese

2 eggs, beaten

11/2 tablespoon parsley flakes

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon oregano

• Thaw bread dough and roll out into two 8- by 10-inch rectangles.

• Brown sausage and drain well.

• Combine other ingredients; add to sausage.

• Spread filling over bread. Roll up and seal ends.

• Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and bread is done.
