Tried 'n' True: Cheddar loaves give sliders a different taste

By Jackie Lindley

TERRE HAUTE — Here’s another take on last week’s recipe for sliders. I was making some cheddar loaves recently and I thought, instead of using small dinner rolls, why not make mini cheddar loaves.

These give your sliders a little bit of a different taste. They also are good with any casserole or any meal you put on the table.

With only four ingredients, this is something you can whip up in a hurry.

Tip: You can use muffin tins if you don’t have the mini loaf pans.

Mini Cheddar Loaves

31/2 cups Bisquick

21/2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese (10 ounces shredded)

2 eggs

11/4 cups milk

• In a large bowl, combine Bisquick and cheese.

• Beat eggs and milk, stir into cheese mixture, just until moistened.

• Pour into 4 greased and floured loaf pans. Use mini loaf pans.

• Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.

• Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Slice and serve warm.

• Makes about 4 mini loaves.
