Enter Vermillion County Homemakers Bakersfest

Cayuga, Ind. — The 2011Bakersfest will be staged Wednesday in the Community Building at the Vermillion County Fairgrounds in Cayuga.

The theme for the 14th Annual Bakersfest is “Favorite Recipe with Apricots.”

Enter your favorite recipe. The item must be baked (not microwaved), and contain at least 1⁄2 cup of apricots. Items that require refrigeration are not eligible for judging. No unbaked cream cheese, sour cream, no cream pies, or recipes containing meat. Each item must be accompanied with a recipe card.

Bakers may enter one item per class, in one or more of the following six classes: cookies, breads, cakes, muffins, pies, and miscellaneous.

Registration will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

There is an entry fee per item. Payment for the entries must be made the day of the contest. Winners in each division and overall Grand and Reserve Grand Champion will receive cash awards. Entrants must be present to win.
