  North baseball pulls away from South in sectional opener

  In high school baseball little things mean a lot, and the crack in the door doesn’t have to be open very wide.
  Terre Haute North burst through that crack in the bottom of the second inning Wednesday evening at Terre Haute South, scoring seven two-out runs and going on to a surprisingly easy 12-2 victory over the host Braves.

Lonestar Steakhouse & Saloon, 3060 S. U.S. 41 (4 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) Observed uncovered employee drinks on salad cooler and on shelf above clean dishes by dishwasher; ice machine and bar soda nozzle holder found with accumulated debris; found empty sanitizer bucket in kitchen handwash sink; observed old food debris on onion slicer and vegetable slicer.

Harry & Bud’s European Cuisine, 1440 S. 25th St. (3 Critical) Rolling pin and food processor found with food debris; observed employee using bare hands to plate food; Risotto, pork roast, soup, torte and lentils not marked with date of consumption.

Subway, 1205 N. Fruitridge Ave. (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) Ice machine chute and spray nozzle above 3-bay sink found with accumulated debris.

Dollar General, 7205 S. Indiana 46 (1 Critical) Found several dented cans on dry storage shelf.

  I always liked Granola bars. Also Granola, to eat by handful. Pat Coolley always keeps granola on hand to nibble on. I don’t like raisins so I use dried cherries or cranberries instead. Instead of brown sugar use Splenda or your choice. I also use sugar-free syrup. So my husband, Gene, can eat these bars, too. This recipe comes from Rose Hill Community Church.

  INDIANAPOLIS — Food items that were distributed in Indiana are being voluntarily recalled by Rich Products Corp., following a multi-state outbreak of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli 0121(E. coli). Two cases have been reported in Indiana.

  When we go up north to visit our friends, I try to take something for breakfast. The men usually go out by themselves at noon or maybe we all four go out. But we eat at home for breakfast. Pat Rhoads gave me this recipe in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
