Restaurant inspections: Feb. 1, 2010


Jan. 4-Jan. 15, 2010:

Due to the issuance of food permits the first week of January, we have combined two weeks of inspections.

Real Hacienda, 2750 S. 3rd St. (3 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) – Condensation dripping from walk-in cooler ceiling onto sliced onions; found broken and cracked plastic containers, container shall be smooth and easily cleanable; several spray bottles containing toxic substances not labeled.

Los Tres Caminos, 5147 S. U.S. Hwy. 41 (2 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) – Observed employee using bare hands to dip chips into basket; found shredded chicken at 50 degrees cooked on 1/12/10, not cooled within appropriate time limits (discarded).

Real Hacienda, 2141 Indiana 46 (1 Critical, 2 Non-Critical) – Found toxic substances stored with food items and utensils on several shelves in kitchen.

Tokyo Japanese Cuisine, 920 S. Third St. (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) – Pink debris observed on chute in ice machine.

La Tienda De Maria, 5127 S. U.S. 41 (1 Critical) – Flan and 3-milk cake not labeled.

Ambrosini’s, 1367 Wabash Ave. (1 Critical) – Several pastas not marked with date of consumption (discarded).
