In partnership with the Indiana Catfish Association, Hoosier Energy is sponsoring its fourth annual Turtle Creek Open catfish tournament from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17 at Turtle Creek Reservoir in Sullivan County. Gates open at 5 a.m.
Participants do not have to be ICA members to participate. There will be a 10-fish limit, 12-inch minimum length. Motors with more than 10 horsepower will be allowed, but are required to run at idle speed.
Cash and prizes will total more than $2,750. Two canned goods to donate to charity are appreciated, but not required.
There will be no boat launch fee, and cost of the tournament is $10.
The 1,550-acre reservoir is the cooling lake for Hoosier Energy’s Merom Generating Station. It is also a popular fishing and waterfowl destination in western Indiana.

Kick off summer with Banks of Wabash Festival tonight
