Attend ‘A Visit with Mary Todd Lincoln’

The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will host “A Visit with Mary Todd Lincoln” at the Vigo County Public Library at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9.

The widow Lincoln will conduct a period recitation on the major events of her life, answer questions, and interact with the attendees. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Vigo County Public Library.

Local historian, writer, speaker, genealogist and former historic dance mistress and actress Deborah Gentit, gives a very realistic impression of the wife of President Lincoln. The presentation is conducted in a first-person historically correct manner, complete with historically accurate garments, hats, shoes and accessories. Deborah Gentit has also completed a Lincoln Family photo album and scrapbook, which may be perused by the audience after the presentation.

The evening will also include appetizers/desserts, cash bar and door prizes. For more information and registration, go to www.inwvgs.org. Due to limited seating, all reservation must be received by Friday. The admission price is $16 and a free-will donation for the Vigo County Public Library.
