Actors needed for 3D films to be shot in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON — The Indiana University 3D Production Class is seeking local talent to cast in its 3D Student Film Showcase to be screened at IU Cinema at 6:30 p.m. on May 1.

The showcase will be filming in Bloomington, beginning later this month. Those who would like to audition should email their name, phone number, gender and age to rusmcgee@indiana.edu for more information.

Auditions are planned from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Indiana University Telecommunications Building, Room No. T169, 1229 E. Seventh St., Bloomington.

The film: “The Monsters Under the Bed” — In the atomic age, a little girl being put to bed fights the monsters and aliens to become a free and confidant girl.

The film is set in the suburban ’50s, so actors must have no visible tattoos that cannot be easily covered up.

Six to seven actors are needed: Spunky Little Girl: age (7-9), Little Boy: age (8-11), Mother: age (30s), Clean Shaven Father: age (30s-40s) and Monster: age (20s-40s)

Movement Background/Stage Combat Required

The film: “The Clockwork Man” — Late one evening a reclusive old woman receives a startling visit from a frantic child, who is being pursued by an otherworldly assailant, the clockwork man. Is the assailant real or imaginary? Will the old woman face her fear and the guilt that haunts her past? What or who is the clockwork man?

Two actors are needed: Gail: a lonely elderly woman; age (40s–70s) and Abby: a spirited girl; age (8–14).
