WEST TERRE HAUTE —
The fifth annual Family Day at the Woods is planned for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 10, hosted by the Sisters of Providence.
Activities include three musical performances, face painting, football toss, duck pond, bean bag toss, sidewalk chalk art, visits with the alpacas, crafts, hay wagon rides, ladder ball, soccer challenge, ring toss, helicopter and tractor display, Sugar Creek fire truck display and an eco-obstacle course, along with other attractions.
Hot dogs, soft drinks and cookies will be offered while supplies last.
All activities and refreshments are free.

In 1899, Hulman and Company began offering up what was to become one of the oldest brands in the country, Clabber baking powder. In 1923, the company changed the baking powder brand name to Clabber Girl.

The upcoming movie “42” aims to show America what Jackie Robinson endured.
Harry Taylor witnessed it firsthand.
Robinson wore jersey No. 42 for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Taylor wore 41. Both were 28-year-old rookies, considerably older than most. Taylor got delayed by military service in World War II. Professional baseball’s unwritten but ironclad code of racial discrimination had kept Robinson and other African-Americans out of the majors since the 1880s. -
