TERRE HAUTE —
One thousand gymnasts will descend on Indiana State University’s campus for the 2010 Fall State Invitational on Dec. 4 and 5, at the ISU Health and Human Services Facility.
Wabash Valley Tumbling and Gymnastics was chosen through a rigorous bidding and selection process to host this competition which historically draws 900 to 1,500 athletes and their families for the two-day event. The selection process was headed by the USA Gymnastics Indiana State Board and was based on experience, facilities available, local attractions and success/experience of the WVTG previous local meets.
This will help the local economy by the influx of money spent for hotels, shopping and dining.
WVTG has grown from an initial enrollment of 96 athletes in 1998 to nearly 450 over the past 12 years.
As a USA Gymnastics member club, WVTG has upheld the highest standards of athletic competition, fitness, integrity and has competed successfully against much larger clubs who have produced Olympic-level athletes. WVTG continues to be the leader in the Wabash Valley for competitive gymnastics and tumbling instruction as well as recreational classes.
WVTG has also been awarded the chance to host the Fall 2010 Indiana USA Gymnastics State Invitational to expose people to often-overlooked athletes, underappreciated sports and draw thousands of people to show them our beautiful city, new attractions and the many shopping venues here.
