Puppeteers to present musical Sunday

PARIS, Ill. — The Sonshine Puppeteers will present their 10th annual Christmas musical at 5 p.m. CST Sunday in The Presbyterian Church at 241 W. Court St. in Paris, Ill.

This year’s production, “Christmas Hangups,” is about a disagreement among Christmas tree ornaments belonging to the Watson family. After much discussion, the ornaments discover and relate the real meaning of Christmas.

According to director Barbara Bergdolt, “Some of the songs performed are lively whereas others are more lyrical.

The audience will recognize several of them. Audience members will especially enjoy the humorous dissension among the puppets.

“We want people to know that individuals of all ages will enjoy the performance; it’s not just for children,” Bergdolt added.

The Sonshine Puppeteers consist of children from third grades and up, as well as adults. The 17 team members operate rod-arm puppets or serve as puppeteers.

No admission is charged for the musical, but a freewill offering is collected.

Refreshments will be served after the one-hour program.

For questions, call the church office at (217) 465-5118 or Bergdolt at 465-4680.
