‘TAP’ to take ISU audience step by step through history of dance

TERRE HAUTE — A non-stop dance presentation coming to Indiana State University Wednesday promises to take the audience from the glittering lights of New York City to the streets of Celtic Ireland without their ever leaving their seats.

“TAP: The Show” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Indiana State University’s Tilson Auditorium in Tirey Hall.

TAP’s dancers will sing and tap their way through decades of favorites – Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, Broadway showstoppers, smooth and sultry soft shoe, flamenco, tribal and Irish step. With nearly a dozen award-winning singers and dancers, “Tap: The Show” comes to life through energetic numbers and dazzling costumes. Using a video projection system, the dancers can perform in Asia one moment and in a New York subway the next, without ever leaving the stage.

Level One tickets are $16 for adults, $5 for youth and $12 for ISU faculty and staff. Level Two tickets are $14 for adults, $5 for youth and $9 for ISU faculty and staff. The performance is free for ISU students with valid IDs. Limited discount rates are available for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available now at the Hulman Center ticket office 800-745-3000 or online at TicketMaster.com.

ISU’s Performing Arts Series is sponsored by First Financial Bank. For more information visit www.hulmancenter.org.
