Lincoln Trail College theater director announces ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ cast

ROBINSON, Ill. — Barbara Shimer, Lincoln Trail College director of theater, has announced the cast of “Jekyll and Hyde.” The LTC production will be performed March 23-25, 30 and 31 in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

The Tony Award-nominated musical, written by Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse, made its Broadway debut in 1997. It is based on “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson. The powerful musical tells the story of a physician searching for an answer to mental illness by experimenting with the causes of good and evil in man. Due to the subject matter, parental caution is advised.

The role of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde will be played by Daniel Dix. Tabitha Songer will portray Jekyll’s fiancée, Emma Carew, and Dana Wachtel will play Lucy Harris, a cabaret performer. Ben Kennedy will portray John Utterson, his best friend. Steven Bruce will play Danvers Carew, Emma’s father. The Board of Governors will be played by Chris Jansen, Tom Brown, Jolie Finkbiner, Will Devin, Phil Thorsen and Daniel Boatman. John Sharma will play Spider, and Gaytha Vail has been cast as Nellie. Also in the cast are; Vickie Becker, Jacob Blankenbecker, Jill Brown, Kevin Carpenter, Amanda Chapman, Larry Dix, Destin Finkbiner, Mindy Fulling, Michelle Garrard, Brady Hall, Jennifer Heldebrandt, Hannah Hyde, Amy Judy, Kathleen and Tom Moore, Jessie Quick, Justin Richards, Nicole Richards, Lyndee Ruddell, Lauren Wagoner and Lauren Wiseman. Musical director is Sandra Nichols, technical director is Larry Quick, and costume director is Cary Schiller.
