TERRE HAUTE — The local and regional band “ellusion” has performed together for about three years.
With a style all its own, ellusion’s repertoire features original songs and also plays covers, while putting its own twist on them.
The band plays from Chicago to Louisville and from St. Louis to Cincinnati. The members love playing in their hometown of Terre Haute and can be found at local venues such as The Verve, Mulligan’s and Al’s Sports Bar, among others.
Last year, ellusion was chosen to be the closing act for Blues at the Crossroads and The Linton Music Fest.
Additionally, the band members are currently recording an original CD in the studio, expecting its release around the first of April. They also have a producer from Nashville currently looking at them for promotional purposes.
The group’s members include Tom Kelly on lead vocals and blues harp, Jeremy Bates on guitar and vocals, Matt Elkins on bass and vocals, Archie Smith on keys and vocals and Steve Ellis on drums and percussion.
Video clips, pictures, a calendar and bios for ellusion are accessible online at the band’s Web site, www.ellusionMusic.com. Facebook members can add themselves to ellusion’s fan base and get weekly updates on venues and times.
Some upcoming Terre Haute shows include April 9 at The Verve, April 23 at Al’s Sports Bar, and April 24 at Mulligans. All venues charge a $5 cover fee.
