Terre Haute Children’s Choir auditions set

The Terre Haute Children’s Choir will be staging auditions Wednesday through Aug. 31 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in room 161 at the Indiana State Univeristy’s Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

School-age children, ages 7 and up, will be placed into one of three choirs based on their ability and experience. A simple vocal assessment will be used to determine a placement for each child. Singers in all three choirs will participate in performances during the 2012-2013 concert season. Some of the advanced choirs may perform in additional events throughout the year.

THCC’s Treble Choir, under the direction of Daniel Tryon, will make its inaugural appearance of the season with a performance of the national anthem at the opening of the Blues at the Crossroads Festival on Sept. 14.

Families wishing to become a part of THCC’s tradition of community service and musical enrichment should contact the THCC office at (812) 264-6480 or thcc.coordinator@gmail.com to schedule an audition. Walk-in appointments will be taken on a space-available basis.

Rehearsals are conducted on the ISU campus from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in Room 150 of the Center for Performing and Fine Arts at Seventh and Chestnut streets. Rehearsals begin on Sept. 5.
