Pioneer Village Christmas Walk begins Dec. 1

TERRE HAUTE — The Vigo County Park and Recreation Department will host the 23rd annual Pioneer Village Christmas Walk at Fowler Park from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1-2.

The public is invited to join the village folk and park staff as they step back in time and prepare for the Christmas season.

Visitors are asked to dress warmly and bring flashlights as the pioneer village paths are lit only by lanterns and the firelight coming from the cabin hearths.

The village gift shop will be open with many homemade and old-fashioned items suitable for Christmas gifts. For a small fee, visitors can enjoy a carriage ride in the village or refreshments in the log barn. On the menu are soup, hot dogs, a variety of desserts, and hot drinks.

Admission is free. A school bus will take visitors to the village from parking lots. Fowler Park is south of Terre Haute off U.S. 41.
