Terre Haute native publishes first novel, ‘World’s End’

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute native James A. Bannon’s first novel, “World’s End,” is now available.

Bannon first started writing during high school. He had an abundant amount of imagination, which compelled him to create a lot of comic characters. He hand drew several comics on notebook paper, even when he should have been studying.

Late in 1992, he decided to write a novel. He completed it in early 1993, and tried to get it published to no avail. Then in early 2012, he heard about self-publishing through Amazon. After a fresh look, and a lot of re-editing, “World’s End” finally saw the light of day. He put a lot more editing into the novel, and now it’s a 2nd edition, re-released in June.

Bannon is now working on a short stories series that will become the prequels to “World’s End.” Also, he is working with a large collaboration of independent authors on a book of short stories. Each author will contribute a short story of about 5,000 words, and then they will all be combined into one book. It will be for sale on Amazon, and all the proceeds from the book sales will go to charity.

The book is available from Amazon as an e-book, to be read on Kindle devices, and other e-reader devices. For those who do not have an e-reader, the book is also available in a paperback edition, also on Amazon.

The book: When a hired killer decides that the world is too messed up, he decides to do something about it. He gathers up friends — some old, and some new — to form a gang with which to try to end the world.

Along the way, he and his gang commit a lot of crimes. They just manage to stay out of jail long enough to get the job done.
