TERRE HAUTE — A Christmas bazaar and celebration is the perfect way to begin the holiday season.
Downtown businesses, museums, shops, restaurants and organizations will offer a fun evening for the entire family from 5 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 4 during “Miracle on 7th Street.” Seventh Street will be closed from Wabash Avenue to Ohio Boulevard and will be the center of the celebration, with activities and special events happening all over the downtown.
Start (or finish) your shopping at the Holiday Marketplace, in a tent filled with one-of-a-kind art or find unique gifts at a trunk show at the Swope or River Wools; enjoy treats and sweets at Crossroads Cafe, the Corner Grind and other downtown restaurants; buy your Christmas trees from the Optimist Club; take in exhibition openings at Gopaland, Halcyon and Arts Illiana; have a photograph taken with Santa Claus; and see the festive decorations and light across downtown.
Listen to holiday music by area choirs; see a real reindeer at the Vigo County Public Library; enjoy an open house at Heinl’s Flower Shop; order Poinsettias to decorate your home or business; make a kid-friendly Christmas decoration at ArtReach; have fun in a bounce house at the Children’s Museum; enter to win a gift basket from downtown Terre Haute favorites.
Parking is available at the City Parking garage, along Ohio Boulevard and on Wabash Avenue. Maps will be available with directions and information about the event.
