Indiana State University Faculty Artist Series coming up Monday

TERRE HAUTE — Music faculty members Randy Mitchell and Martha Krasnican will perform as part of the Indiana State University Faculty Artist Series at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Recital Hall of the Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

Compositions to be performed with Krasnican include “Cavatine” by Camille Saint-Saëns, Eric Ewazen’s “Adagio” and Donald White’s “Sonata for Trombone and Piano.”

Mitchell will be joined by music faculty members Todd Gallagher, bass, and Brent McPike, guitar, along with Tom Whiteman, drums and Chris Bales, piano, members of the Student Jazz Combo on additional musical selections.

A 1974 music education alum of Indiana State, he holds degrees in trombone performance from the University of Louisville and the University of North Texas.

Krasnican is the director of the accompanying program at ISU and principal keyboardist with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. She graduated with distinction from the Eastman School of Music.
