Mike’s Carwash donates ‘Works’ proceeds to kids

TERRE HAUTE — Mike’s Carwash is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters to present the 4th Annual “Mike’s Mentors Kids” event on Saturday. On this day, Mike’s Carwash will donate half of all proceeds from “The Works” car washes sold to participating Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies throughout Indiana and Ohio.

Last year, Mike’s Carwash raised more than $65,000 for BBBS agencies in just one day. “The Works” retails at $15.

“It’s been proven that a good mentor can bring positive change to a child’s life,” says Bill Dahm, CEO of Mike’s Carwash. “Big Brothers Big Sisters does a great job of providing one-on-one mentoring, but there are children on their waiting list that need to be matched. We are offering a chance for our customers do a little something that will have a big impact.”

In the event of inclement weather, a rain date of Aug. 25 has been set for the event.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana is a nonprofit organization that provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better.

The organization partners with parents, guardians, volunteers, schools, donors and others in the community to be accountable for helping youth in the program achieve higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships; educational success; and avoidance of risky behaviors.
