Annual Boy Scout Cookout moves to June, Memorial Stadium

TERRE HAUTE — While the location and date have changed, one thing remains the same: the generous support of Baesler’s for this year’s Boy Scout Cookout.

The Crossroads of America Council will serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Indiana State University’s Memorial Stadium.

“We are trying this event earlier in the summer to see if Mother Nature gives us some cooler conditions than in years past,” said Sarah Archer, Wabash Valley District director Boy Scouts of America Crossroads of America Council.

The new location is also designed to help with the flow and traffic and provide a great backdrop for those who dine on location. Drive-through and carry-out are still available, and cars may enter the circle drive off of Brown Avenue for easy access to pick up meals on the go.

Baesler’s Market will once again provide the bratwurst or hot dog, potato salad, chips and cookie. Pepsi will provide the soft drinks or water. Meals are $6 each and can be purchased in advance at the Crossroads of America Council office at 501 S. 25th St., in Terre Haute, from a local scout or on the day of the event.

Phone orders can be taken and tickets will be delivered to your business. Call (812) 232-9496.

All proceeds will once again support local scouting programs, local camps, youth recruitment, leadership training and administrative offices.

The Crossroads of America Council serves about 25,000 youth and adult leaders in 25 central Indiana counties. Wabash Valley’s district serves nearly 2,000 youth and 800 leaders in Vigo, Vermillion, Parke, Clay, Putnam and Sullivan counties.
