CLAY CITY —
The Clay City Lions Club will be staging its annual Pottery Festival on June 9 and 10. This is the 25th year of celebrating the Clay City Pottery.
Currently the fifth and sixth generations of the Griffith family are operating the facility, Indiana’s only commercial manufacturer of pottery. Visit the facility for tours, demonstrations and pottery painting between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
Saturday morning from 7 to 9 a.m. there will be a biscuit and gravy breakfast sponsored by Clay City USA at the Welcome Center. The Calico Quilters Club is sponsoring a Quilt Show both days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the REIN Center in Clay City. At Goshorn Park in Clay City, there will be crafters, flea markets, live music and lots of food.
Saturday at the park there will be the fourth annual car show beginning at 10 a.m. Drive ins are welcome. At 12:30 p.m. at the gazebo, enjoy music by Six Mile. Also, the Lions Club will be serving its famous grilled chicken from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday in the park there will be a community church service at 9 a.m. at the gazebo. There will be a Jonah Fish Fry beginning at 11 a.m. at the Lions Club Building, and the Angela Lilly Trio will perform at the gazebo.
