TERRE HAUTE —
What do the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola bottle have in common? Discover the answer from author Donna Christenberry, who will sign her recent book, “Images of America Terre Haute: Farrington’s Grove” from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the lobby of the Vigo County Public Library at Seventh and Poplar streets.
Christenberry researched the history of Farrington’s Grove Historic District and her book contains photographs from the 1850s to the 1960s. She is a journalist, writer, editor, teacher, and longtime resident of Farrington’s Grove who has written about Terre Haute for more than 20 years.
The book signing will take place during the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

NEW YORK — Annette Funicello, who became a child star as a perky, cute-as-a-button Mouseketeer on “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1950s, then teamed up with Frankie Avalon in a string of ‘60s fun-in-the-sun movies with titles like “Beach Blanket Bingo” and “Bikini Beach,” died today. She was 70.
