Marshall’s Got Talent seeking performers

Marshall, Ill. — In the spirit of the America’s Got Talent acts of today and the Vaudeville acts of yesteryear, Harlan Hall’s Entertainment Committee is now seeking individuals or groups with unique and appropriate acts or talents.

Those wishing to showcase their talents as a ventriloquist, magician, singer, dancer, unicyclist, comedian or something else should contact Harlan Hall at (217) 826-2498 to request an application or visit www.harlanhallmarshall.com to download an application.

Performances must be completed in seven minutes or less and be appropriate for an all-age group audience. Judges are needed as well as stagehands. Entries may be submitted via email, regular mail, or by drop-off. Deadline is May 15.

The Marshall’s Got Talent event is planned for June 29-July 1 at Harlan Hall, 603 Locust St. Times will be determined at a later date. Additionally, there will be an electronic scoring component via cell phone for audience participation. Cash prizes will be available for the top three finishers. There is no entry fee. Admission is $5.

Harlan Hall, at 603 Locust St., is a restored 1872 historic building originally built to house a livery stable on the first floor and an opera house on the second. Harlan Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
