38th Spring Art Show in Rockville begins tonight with open house

Rockville — The Covered Bridge Art Association will welcome the public for art and refreshments from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Gallery on the north side of the Rockville square. Artists have entered what they perceive to be their best work of art.

Door prizes have been donated by three artists: Judy Ohmit, Linda Stalker and Connie Wasson. Winners will be drawn in June.

Also during the first weekend, each person may sign up for their personal favorite. A Most Popular will be awarded from those votes.

The show will be judged by Shirley Biddle Freeman of Oxford, Ind. Although mostly self-taught, she has studied with some of the finest painters in the U.S. and Mexico. She considers it a gift from God to be able to share her talent and education with students in classes and workshops.

She has been accepted in state, regional, and national juried shows including those in Forida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.

This year’s show is dedicated to the memory of oil paint artist Millie Warnick.

The show runs through May 31. All entries will remain hanging until the end of the show. Entries that are sold may be picked at the close of the show or they will be delivered by the artist.

For more information contact the gallery at (765) 569-9422. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
