Personalities Julie Henricks, Katie Shane to co-host new program

TERRE HAUTE — Daytime television isn’t all about game shows and soap operas anymore.  Shows like “The Chew,” “The View” and “Rachael Ray” are drawing more viewers than ever before.

Starting May 4, Wabash Valley viewers will be able to enjoy a local version of this lifestyle and entertainment TV with “Good Day Live.” NBC 2 will welcome back Julie Henricks and Katie Shane to co-host a new half hour program.

“Good Day Live” will feature stories and segments about food, health, fashion, fitness and entertainment.

Weekly segments like the Guest Chef will bring interaction, fun and faces from the community to the set.

Each week will be unique, and the last Friday of every month will be all about girlfriends and fun.

“We are ending each month with girlfriend Fridays,” Henricks said. “This is when we hope girlfriends will gather around the TVs together to join Katie and me as we laugh and maybe even cry, give away great prizes that any group of girls would love and share ways we can all unwind as women and friends.”

Henricks spent 15 years on local morning television as a meteorologist and co-host. Shane started her career as a reporter in this market and most recently returned as a host of the ‘Valley Showcase.’ Both are excited about this unique opportunity to create a brand new show and launch it on NBC2.

“Broadcasting has always been my passion,” Henricks said. “Whether TV or radio, it’s truly where I’m most comfortable. I love to write and share amazing stories. I can’t wait to produce ‘Good Day Live’ each week and give Valley viewers a chance to get to know their neighbors; learn more about businesses and activities close to home; take trips around the Midwest with our viewers and give away great prizes, too!”

“The part of broadcasting that I love so much is having the opportunity to meet new people and tell amazing stories,” Shane said. “‘Good Day Live’ is going to provide that, plus so much more. It’s really a half hour for people to sit back, learn something new and hopefully laugh with us along the way. I’m so thankful for the opportunity, not only to be part of a new, exciting show in the Valley, but I get to work with a great friend and colleague, Julie Henricks.”

“Good Day Live” will use social media as a way to reach viewers, too. “Like us on Facebook,” Shane said, where the show will offer giveaways and deals to Facebook friends. The hosts will also utilize Twitter and Pinterest.

Good Day Live will air at 11 a.m. each Friday on NBC2. Find more about the show at mywabashvalley.com.
