Rockville gallery announces Spring Show winners

---- — Organizers of the 38th Annual Spring Art Show in Rockville have announced the show’s award winners.

The April 26 show was judged by Shirley Biddle Freeman of Oxford. The Most Popular award came via votes from those attending the event through the weekend. The show will continue until the end of May with all art still hanging, including those that are sold. Door prizes provided by Judy Ohmit, Linda Stalker and Connie Wasson will be drawn at the June meeting.

The following awards were given:

n Best of Show: “Old Barn on the Road to Judson,” a watercolor by Bob Whitmore

n Most Popular and first place: “Grandpa’s Laughter,” a watercolor by Elaine Waltz.

First Place:

n “Glade Creek Mill,” wood scroll saw by Loren Myers

n “Floyd the Dragon Fly,” ink stippling by Tom Poynter

n “Farm Pond in Winter,” photo by Roger Randall

n “Rhododendron,” color pencil by Ellen Shaffer

Second Place:

n “The Fawn,” a watercolor by Bill Bolz

n “Springtime,” a watercolor by Rita Jacks

n “Dormant,” a watercolor by Rita Jacks

n “Horse Hair Bowl,” pottery by Judy Ohmit

Third Place:

n “Mormons: Il to Ut,” oil by Jim Colleran

n “Hilgar Farm,” oil by Jim Colleran

n “The Pond,” oil by Delores Collings

n “Tommy’s Rock,” oil by Connie Wasson

The Gallery is on the north side of the square in Rockville. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (except Tuesdays) and  from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. For more information call (765) 569-9422.
