Scott Webster Band takes stage Saturday

TERRE HAUTE — A busy group of musicians will take the stage in Saturday night’s slot at the Banks of the Wabash Festival in Fairbanks Park.

The Scott Webster Band will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. that evening at the festival, offering covers of contemporary country hit songs, along with some rock ’n’ roll. The band’s lineup includes Webster on lead vocals, Marc Rogers and son Marcus Rogers on guitars and backing vocals, John Rogers (Marc’s youngest son) on drums, and Steven Lee on bass and backup vocals.

Webster has attracted interest in recording circles in nashville, said Marc Rogers, who worked as a touring and session guitarist in Music City for several years before returning to Terre Haute, his hometown.

Currently, Webster’s band delivers renditions of songs by popular country singers such as Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.

Rogers expects to revisit his touring career, joining the band behind nashville solo artist Matt Kennon. Kennon scored a Top 40 country hit with “The Call,” and has a new single and video with an anti-bullying theme, “You Had to Pick on Me.”

“I’m excited to get started,” Rogers said of his role with Kennon’s group.

In the meantime, Rogers is anxious to perform with his sons in the Scott Webster Band at the festival.

Music is scheduled daily at the Banks of the Wabash Festival, which started in 1974. Admission is free.
