Christian recording artist endorses Valley author’s book

Bryan Duncan, Dove and Grammy award-winning contemporary Christian music pioneer singer and songwriter, recently endorsed Clay County author Marjorie E. Hopkins’ book.

“Dying to Meet Him: Wit and Wisdom from a Funeral Director’s Wife,” is a “must read,” Duncan said.

The book was nationally released in late December by Tate Publishing and Enterprises and is a Christian’s perspective of overcoming the fear of death.

Duncan started performing professionally with the Sweet Comfort Band and recorded six albums with it before launching a solo career that has spanned more than 25 years.

He has released 13 solo albums and three more with the NehoSoul Band, selling in excess of 1 million records.

He is currently recording a new album.

Duncan was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame along with Amy Grant and Al Green. He has received three Dove awards and one Grammy.

“I enjoyed reading this book along with my daily devotionals. I especially liked the inclusion of questions to consider,” Duncan said.

“It is imperative that we should consider the deadline of our lives in the construction of our purposes for living,” Duncan said. The book “gives you the questions to ask in building a great time line for a fulfilling purpose. It is a must read.”

Duncan added that Hopkins “brings a comfortable conversation to an unpopular truth. Death is not optional, neither is this great little book.”

As the wife of a funeral director, Hopkins got a much closer glimpse at life and death. Hopkins shares how, through this time, and while praying for years about her own fear of death, she overcame and was drawn to the conclusion that humans avoid thinking and planning for this one unavoidable event in life.

The Brazil High School graduate said she hopes “Dying to Meet Him” will help readers gain a more eternal and spiritual perspective on everyday life.

“I am so honored and privileged to have Bryan Duncan’s endorsement,” she said. “He is a tremendously talented brother in Christ whom I greatly respect.”

“Dying to Meet Him” is available at book stores nationwide, by visiting barnesandnoble.com,

amazon.com or at the author’s website at www.dyingtomeethim.com.
