Head downtown to St. Ben’s Community Festival this weekend

TERRE HAUTE — St. Benedict Parish will stage its 15th annual Community Festival on Friday and Saturday at Ninth and Ohio streets in downtown Terre Haute.

Both days, the Community Festival will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight. There will be a $2 admission fee for those 21 and older.

Activities during the regular festival hours include family games, casino games, food booths, a beer garden, a handmade quilt raffle, 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. There will also be a cash raffle with prizes totaling $5,000.

On Friday, The MacDaddys will hit the stage. These seasoned musicians will play an array of hits from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Octane will fuel the wild side of all festival goers and keep the festival rocking Saturday night. The premier party band will play rock, classic rock and pop songs. They’ll play from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos and Newlin Law Firm is also offering those attending the festival free cab rides home. This service will be available both nights. For a free ride, call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at (812) 478-5000 and tell them the law firm is picking-up the tab. This is part of the safe and sober program.

The “Hauteans in Motion” bicycle rally will take place Saturday. For detailed information, go to www.hauteans-in-motion.org.

For more information, call St. Benedict Church at (812) 232-8421 or www.stbenedictth.org.
