Swope Museum plans Family Day

Swope Family Day is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Explore images of houses and buildings in the galleries and then make a picture of your house, school or favorite place to contribute to a mural map of Terre Haute, assembled by the Art Hoppers of the Swope. Hot Club to

perform at Tilson


The Hot Club of San Francisco, “one of the most cohesive and entertaining Gypsy swing bands in the United States,” presents Cinema Vivant, a “celebration of imagination and innovation” at 2 p.m. Sunday at Indiana State University’s Tilson Auditorium.

Two vintage silent films by Ladislaw Starewicz will be featured. As the films cross the screen, they are accompanied by live gypsy swing. Each note matches the action and emotion on the screen.

The Indy South Train Show is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Southside K of C at 511 E. Thompson Road, in Indianapolis.

Admission is $4 for adults; children under 14 will be admitted free with an accompanying adult.

Learn to weave, felt, spin

Fiber Frolic at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice is the perfect workshop for those wishing to learn how to weave, spin yarn or water felt.

Choose one of the three arts to concentrate on Jan. 27-29. Participants will take home a finished product.

FEBRUARY

Ping-pong tourney planned at North

The first “Smash on the Bash” Ping-Pong Tournament to support the Terre Haute North girls and boys tennis teams will take place Feb. 18 at Terre Haute North Vigo High School.

The entry fee for the ping-pong tournament with divisions for all ages is $15 and includes a T-shirt. For more information and to register visit www.smashonthebash.com.

Angela Lilly Trio to perform in Pimento

The Angela Lilly Trio will perform a concert at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 1 at the Pimento United Methodist Church at 2399 E. Edwards Drive.

Bluegrass jam

session at Rose


Crooked Creek will be the featured band at the next jam session and meeting of the National Crossroads Bluegrass & Acoustic Music Association.

Musicians of all ages are invited to attend the free monthly event scheduled 7 to 10 p.m. Jan. 28 in the G-M Room of Moench Hall at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, at 5500 Wabash Ave.
