Plan to attend Boy Scout Golf Classic next month at Country Club

TERRE HAUTE — Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America and Benchmark Fabricated Steel invite the public to the 22nd Annual Boy Scout Golf Classic on July 27 at the Country Club of Terre Haute.

In 2011, the Wabash Valley District of Crossroads of America Council provided the Scouting program to more than 1,800 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts and Explorer Scouts. This was accomplished with the help of more than 700 adult volunteers who gave leadership to 79 packs, troops and crews in Vigo, Sullivan, Vermillion, Clay, Parke and Putnam counties.

The golf outing supports the programs and services that include Camp Krietenstein, professional staff, adult leader training, camporees, day camp, summer camp, Terre Haute service center and more.

The Scoutreach program provides paid staff to work with disadvantaged youth in areas where traditional Scouting isn’t possible.

As a Council-supported program, the staff provide weekly programming to youth who otherwise would not receive the benefits of Scouting.

To register call Judy Earl at the Scout Service Center at (812) 232-9496, ext. 400. Register by Friday and qualify for a drawing to win:

• Official Benchmark Boy Scout Golf Classic shirt

• Sleeve of balls

• Golf glove

• $50 CCTH Pro Shop Gift Certificate

• $50 CCTH Clubhouse Gift Certificate

• Round of golf for foursome at Country Club of Terre Haute, including cart
