Art Affair on the Square next weekend

ROCKVILLE — “Art Affair on the Square” is set from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 23.  Sponsored by the Covered Bridge Art Association, the event will be on the  Rockville courthouse square in Parke County.

This second Art Affair includes such juried works as: pottery, enamel, glass, jewelry, metal, wood, mixed media, oil, watercolor, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textile, fiber as well as other skilled crafts.

The Art Affair will also include a Children’s Art Area for budding artists, or children just looking to have fun. Some of the activities will include hand painted canvas squares of Covered Bridges, face painting, painted ceramics, water colors, pressed flowers, walk chalk art, and a variety of other artistic endeavors.

Musicians from a wide variety of musical backgrounds will provide live entertainment on the square throughout the day. The shops on the square will be open for shopping. Food will be available both in local restaurants and bars, and from vendors on the square. The Memorial Presbyterian Church on the southwest corner of the square will be offering a free will offering pancake and sausage breakfast from 8-10 a.m. for early morning shoppers and vendors.
