Fountain Art Council plans Cemetery Walk

Covington — Fountain County Art Council Inc. in Covington will be hosting a Cemetery Walk on from 1 to 4 p.m. May 5.

Tickets are $7 and include the Civil War encampment tent; music; a wagon ride; refreshments; and the cemetery tour, where 14 characters will be telling stories at eight grave sites. Participants will then have supper at the Beef House.

Coming up:

• The Art Council will be hosting Covington’s first Decorator Showhouse June 8-10. Built in the 1870s, this home will be decorated by 15 local decorators. Ticket prices are $9 presale, $11 at the door. Special arrangements and prices can be made for groups of eight or more.

• Fountain County Landmarks is hosting A Day of Gardens and Art that features eight gardens, artists, musicians, food, plant sales and mural tours (from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 9.

Proceeds from the events are earmarked for the conservation of the historic courthouse murals.
