Clark County Fair kicks off Saturday, features projects by more than 250 4-H’ers


MARTINSVILLE, ILL. — The Clark County 4-H Fair is Saturday to Wednesday at the Martinsville Fairgrounds.

Projects made by more than 250 Illinois 4-H’ers during the past year will be exhibited.

Highlights of the fair include general project judging, a rocket launch, and dog and cat show on Saturday; horse show, bicycle rodeo and rabbit show on Monday; swine, foods, sheep and goat shows on Tuesday, poultry and beef show on Wednesday.

The Fashion Revue and Foods Auction will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday; and the livestock auction at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The projects will be on display from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday and throughout the remainder of the fair until 11 a.m. Wednesday.

8:30 a.m. — General project registration

8:30 a.m. — Set-up Martinsville Fairgrounds — Livestock barns

9 a.m. — General project judging; rocket launch immediately after general project judging

11 a.m. — Cloverbud exhibit

Noon — Cat show

12:30 p.m. — Dog show

Sunday

2 to 7 p.m. — General project building open for project viewing

5 to 8:30 p.m. — Livestock exhibits check-in

9 p.m. — Livestock Ethics meeting for livestock exhibitors

Monday

9 a.m. — Horse show

9:30 a.m. — Garden tractor/farm tractor driving contests

10:30 p.m. — Bicycle rodeo

1:30 p.m. — Rabbit show

6:30 p.m. — 4-H Family Fun Night

Tuesday

8 a.m. — Swine show

Noon — Foods show

1 p.m. — Sheep show

Goat show — immediately after sheep show

6:30 p.m. — Dress Revue, awards program, food auction

Wednesday

8 a.m. — Poultry show

8:30 a.m. — Dairy and beef show

10:30 a.m. — State Fair delegate meeting

11 a.m. — General projects released

6:30 p.m. — Livestock auction
