Harvest Barbecue Dinner/Fundraiser to feature locally-grown foods

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Foods Cooperative Market together with the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice announces the Second Annual Harvest Barbecue Dinner/Fundraiser to be at St. Mary-of-the Woods College on Oct. 7. Dinner will prepared by Kris Kraut and other local chefs at 6 p.m. in the garden of White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and will feature locally-grown foods. Diners will have the opportunity to visit with the center’s alpacas and to mingle with other local food advocates. A cash bar and appetizers will be provided in the garden at 5 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person.

Proceeds from the event will support the activities of the WVC and TFCM. WVC provides opportunities to participate in creating systems that support justice and sustainability, locally and globally through organic agriculture, eco-justice education and advocacy. TFCM is a member-owned cooperative forming in Terre Haute that seeks to provide the community with natural, organic and local foods. Like WVC, TFCM has a strong commitment to building the local food movement while offering support to food producers and consumers in the Wabash Valley.
