Bird tops Demos in Vigo Council at large race
With all of Vigo County’s 87 precincts reporting at about 7:30 p.m., incumbents Mark A. Bird and Ed Ping won renomination for Council Council at large in a heavily contested Democratic primary that saw Terre Haute utility manager and community volunteer Rick Burger place second. The outcome meant that the third incumbent, William C. Bryan, was ousted.

With 82 of 87 precincts counted at about 7:15 p.m., incumbent Vigo County Commissioner Judith A. Anderson was far ahead of challenger Sean Patrick Feeney, in one of three county races involving only Democrats in the primary election.
