Final blitz targets fundraising goal

TERRE HAUTE — It’s a big week for United Way of the Wabash Valley.

The finish line for the current campaign is rapidly approaching, and the organization that does so much to funnel needed funds to important service organizations throughout the area is in high gear for its seventh annual United Day for United Way. An ambitious goal of $20,000 has been set for the day. Everyone’s help is needed.

The United Day event is slated for Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. More than 50 donation sites will be set up. A lot of things will be going on, including celebrity gas pumpers and celebrity baggers at Baesler’s Market on Terre Haute’s east side.

When the dust settles on this big day, United Way hopes to creep ever closer to reaching its $1.86 million goal. At this point, $1,710,909 has been raised. So close, yet so far.

United Way of the Wabash Valley has been so successful for so long in large part because of the faith the communities it serves have in the organization and the agencies it helps fund.

Although the goal is close, help is still needed. Please do your part For more information, visit www.uwwv.org.
