Maggie Mae hits Opry stage

TERRE HAUTE — Maggie Mae, a country singer and Nashville recording artist from Oxford, Wis., has been entertaining crowds with her country music and yodeling for approximately 10 years. This Saturday she will bring her act to the Boot City Opry in Terre Haute.

After buying her first guitar in 2002, Mae taught herself to play and sing and has been entertaining crowds ever since. She is a regular performer on RFD TV’s “Midwest Country Show” on Saturday nights (on Direct TV and Dish Network), which has made her a familiar face in millions of homes across the country.

Mae’s instant rapport with the audience and her enthusiasm throughout her shows guarantee enjoyment not only by country music fans but also for anyone else who just loves music.

Mae became interested in learning to play the guitar when a customer at Maggie Mae’s Cafe in Oxford brought his into the restaurant and performed.

The customers loved it, so she bought a guitar, taught herself to play chords and realized she could also sing.

Mae also stages “Music in the Barn” parties in Oxford, which draw large crowds every month.

The Boot City show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.
