The Fabulous 40s Big Band to entertain at Harlan Hall

Great music in a historic venue is on tap for The Fabulous 40s Big Band Dance scheduled for Sept. 7 at Harlan Hall in Marshall, Ill.

Join the entertainment committee of Harlan Hall at 603 Locust St., in a special evening of entertainment, dancing and snacks. Doors open at 7 p.m. CDT, and the band will play from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

The Fab 40s Big Band era has come alive and is vibrant in the Wabash Valley with the playing of songs and tunes identified with the prominent bands that played across America in the 1930s and 1940s. The big band is a 16-member ensemble with members hailing from the Wabash Valley.

Tickets for the event are $15 each, $25 per couple or $100 per table of eight. Students with proper ID are entitled to a $2 discount. Cash bar will be available (ID required). The event is open to all ages.

Harlan Hall is a restored 1872 historic building originally built to house a livery stable on the first floor and an opera house on the second.

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a locally significant building associated with the important grass roots trend in American culture and entertainment history during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Proceeds from this event will go to bringing other quality entertainment to Harlan Hall. All donations are tax deductible.

Call today (217) 826-2498 to get tickets.
