NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
After the January release of her new single, “I’m Not Gonna Let You,” Nashville singer-songwriter Roxie Randle will perform Feb. 7 in the Illinois county where she grew up.
Randle issued the song — a plea of encouragement for a loved one to persevere through tough times — on Jan. 17. “I’m Not Gonna Let You” marks the first digital single of her career.
The Hutsonville native and fellow Nashville performer Jenn Franklin will bring their “No Divas” tour to Lincoln Trail College at Robinson in Crawford County, Ill., for the Feb. 7 show, opening for the Ash Brothers Tribute to Alabama. The concert begins at 7 p.m. CDT. Tickets are $25 and available by calling 618-544-2373, 618-544-4416, or 618-544-8657.
Steak sandwiches, chips and drinks will be available for a free-will offering in the LTC cafeteria, beginning at 5 p.m., courtesy of Marathon Oil.
Randle wrote “I’m Not Gonna Let You” with David G. Smith, and co-produced it with Brad Hill at his studio in Nashville.
“When someone is feeling discouraged, battling depression or dealing with addiction, it’s only natural to want to withdraw and hide yourself away,” Randle said. “This song is from the perspective of a loved one who is determined to help that person get back up and start believing in themselves again. It was an intensely personal song for me [and David] to write.”
Fans of the new album, “The Wabash,” a tribute to the river by 13 local and regional artists, will recognize Randle for that CD’s ballad, “Wabash Bird.”
Her new single is available on CDBaby.com and iTunes.
