Acoustic evening with Jamie O’Neal planned in Effingham

EFFINGHAM, ILL. — Country singer-songwriter Jamie O’Neal will make a solo acoustic appearance at Effingham Performance Center at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13. Tickets for the show are $15 and are on sale now. Tickets may be purchased by phone at (217) 540-2788, ext. 222, or at the Effingham Performance Center, 1325 Outer Belt West, Effingham, IL, during box office hours, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday.

O’Neal grew up with a microphone in her hand, singing in her family’s band and putting into practice what she learned studying music’s biggest legends, such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson, at close range. The Sydney, Australia, native has had two number-one hits, “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels.” Her tribute to moms everywhere, “Somebody’s Hero,” reached number three on the Hot Country charts. She has earned four Grammy nominations, and her latest single is “Soldier Comin’ Home.” South Carolina singer Hannah Canille will open the concert for O’Neal.

The presentation is a “Special Session” of the “$5 Sessions” series of band performances at Effingham Performance Center. More information about “$5 Sessions” is available at the-epc.org/barAndBand.html. More information about Jamie O’Neal is available at www.jamieoneal.com.
