Indiana State junior McCall Christopher has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Christopher recorded her second career top-five finish while leading the Sycamore women’s team to its second tournament title of the 2012-2013 season this week, firing a 36-hole total of 156 to finish second in the BSC Ann Rhoads Invitational at Birmingham, Ala.
The junior opened with a 77 in the first round Sunday and came back with a 79 in Monday’s second round to lead the Sycamores with a 156 total. Christopher tied for first but lost in a playoff in the 2011 Payne Stewart Memorial in her only other top-five finish.
Christopher now has 13 top-20 finishes in her career, including five in the top 10. She was named to the All-Tournament team along with teammates Reece Feducia (third) and Emily Dixon (tied fourth).
