The Rose-Hulman women’s basketball team earned a key Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory in the race for the final spot in this year’s tournament with a 49-43 win Wednesday night in Hulbert Arena.
Rose (12-12 overall, 8-9 HCAC) travels to Hanover on Saturday in the regular-season finale. A win also would bring Rose its fourth .500 or above season in program history.

n Crowe honored — Brodie Crowe of Shakamak has been named the Subway Player of the Week for District 3 for his play.
The 6-foot-2 senior had 33 points and five rebounds in the Lakers’ 62-50 victory over Vincennes Rivet. He was 12 of 14 from the field, making three of four 3-pointers, and converted all six free throws he attempted. Crowe had 934 career points.
Nicole Anderson of Terre Haute North was another player nominated for the honor.
