Nominations for the board of directors of Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability are being accepted now through its annual meeting on Saturday. Persons may nominate themselves or others for one of up to 19 director positions with terms of one or two years in length.
Those nominated must be members in good standing of OGVA. Nominations will be closed following the OGVA annual meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Sycamore Banquet Center in Hulman Memorial Student Union on the campus of Indiana State University.
The meeting is part of the Our Green Valley Conference, which is to take place on Friday and Saturday. Saturday’s activities, including the annual meeting, are free and open to the public. Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability is comprised of people, institutions, and organizations in the Wabash Valley working together to enact Earth-friendly, sustainable practices to improve personal and public health, community vitality, economic development, and the environment by “meeting the need of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their need.”
The Alliance is dedicated to advancing environmentally sustainable Earth stewardship in the Wabash Valley and beyond by:
• promoting education and public awareness,
• encouraging partnerships,
• facilitating leadership and activities,
• providing forums for policy development,
• producing a Sustainability Plan for the Wabash Valley; and
• advocating for the enactment of the Sustainability Plan.
