Look for random acts of kindness at mall

TERRE HAUTE — Honey Creek Mall in Terre Haute will again celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Week, Feb. 13-19. During this week, shoppers at the mall will be randomly surprised with free gifts handed out by volunteers from the Terre Haute Humane Society and staff from the shopping center.

The event is co-sponsored by Coca-Cola, which will partner with CBL Malls to make a donation to the Terre Haute Humane Society for its support.

“Last year was the first time we celebrated Random Acts of Kindness and our shoppers and retailers embraced the concept,” said Sean Phillips, regional marketing director for CBL Malls. “Our malls are at the heart of the communities we serve and it is wonderful to surprise shoppers with tokens of our appreciation. The generous support of our retailers and the dedication of volunteers from the Terre Haute Humane Society enables us to once again ‘share the love’ at Honey Creek Mall.”

An array of goodies will be given away, including gift cards and coupons from popular stores including Auntie Anne’s, Merle Norman, Subway and Things Remembered.

Random Acts of Kindness will be distributed at varying times daily Monday through Sunday at Honey Creek Mall.

“We hope that shoppers who receive a Random Act of Kindness at one of our malls will pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else. After all, spreading kindness and good will is what this week is all about,” Phillips said.
