Chamber plans workshops on management, environment

INDIANAPOLIS — Two upcoming workshops presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce will offer attendees the chance to learn about supervising and managing employees, as well as stay informed of the latest environmental regulations impacting Hoosier companies.

Event details include:

• Supervising and Managing People Workshop, Feb. 9-10 — This two-day workshop provides the information needed to be a successful manager for new supervisors and those seeking a refresher course.

Learn powerful techniques for motivating employees, keys to improving effective communication, how to be a more effective leader and how to deal with employee problems and problem employees.

The workshop is presented by Comprehensive Performance Systems. Cost is $599.

• Environmental Seminar: What’s New in 2012, Feb. 14 — This half-day program, presented with Stewart & Irwin and Astbury Environmental Engineering, will address the latest laws and regulations companies need to be aware of.

Seminar highlights include a legislative update, overview of federal and state statutes, interesting and current case studies, insurance coverage/insurance recovery, real estate transactions/environmental liabilities, the role of an environmental consultant and air permitting developments.

Cost is $199 for Indiana Chamber members and $299 for non-members.

Both conferences will be in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Conference Center at 115 W. Washington St., Suite 850S in downtown Indianapolis.
