The Estate Planning Council of Central Illiana has recently elected officers and board of directors for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. The officer are: president, David Dittmann (Edward Jones, Terre Haute); vice president, Terri Svihla (Svihla & Associates, CPAs, LLC); secretary, Bob McMahan (McMahan Law Firm); treasurer, Julie Schlosser (Old National Bank). The board of directors are: T.C. Clary (Wright, Shagley & Lowery); Brian Dyer Sr, (Terre Haute Savings Bank); Jeff Fisher (Sackrider & Company, Inc.); Lakshmi Reddy (Reddy Law Firm LLC); and Cary Sparks (First Financial Bank Trust Services).
The Estate Planning Council of Central Illiana, Inc. was formed on April 2, 1996, to provide a better understanding of estate planning and the services estate planners can render to the general public. Members of the Council strive to promote cooperation among the various disciplines engaged in estate planning. The intent is to foster a better understanding of the proper relationship that each discipline bears to the other, the clients, and the general public.
The council conducts five professional meetings throughout the year covering timely estate planning-related topics.
The local council is a member of the National Association of Estate Planners and Council. Membership in the Estate Planning Council is open to any professional who is engaged in or interested in the estate planning process. For more information, contact David Dittmann at 812-242-9455.

Jody Kirby of Terre Haute, an independent advanced sales director with The Pampered Chef, was the recipient of awards for Excellence in Personal Sales and Developing Leaders for 2012.

She received the award for Excellence in Personal Sales with more than $80,000 in personal sales during the awards year and Excellence in Developing Leaders by helping several other consultants on her sales team to achieve new levels of business management during the same awards year.

Shefali Purohit of Terre Haute became the new president of Indiana State Medical Association Alliance during the ISMA-A and ISMA conventions Sept. 14-16 in Indianapolis.
In her address, she stressed the importance of unity and communication within the organization. “If we talk to one another, connect with one another, we can do great things and most importantly, make a difference,” she said.
Her agenda in the coming year includes efforts to educate students about healthy lifestyles to fight obesity. She also plans to collaborate on a program to reduce bullying among teenagers.
Purohit has been active in the Vigo County Alliance for 16 years and has served as its president three times. She is a former high school biology teacher.
